Zhouhan is the creator of Information Tracer. He works on the intersection of data science, internet safety, and journalism. He is heavily involved in the investigation of online trolling campaigns against Amber Heard. Zhouhan has shared his work on top conferenecs such as DEFCON, RSA, and THIS. He used to work at Twitter, Google and Amazon Web Services. He holds a PhD degree in New York University, a master's and bachelor’s degree both in Rice University.
Huiyi is a PhD candidate at the School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, specializing in political information ecosystems and computational social science methodologies. She is a visiting student at the Asia-Pacific Research Center, Stanford University, and holds a master's degree from the Oxford Internet Institute. Huiyi has actively contributed to Information Tracer's technical architecture and interface design.
Yuki focuses on understanding human-centered data with quantitative approaches. Her research interests are social media misinformation and disinformation, fanfiction and fandom communities, and gender issues. Yuqing is also a freelance writer and vlogger. She graduated from New York University with a Master in Data Science. She enjoys anime, manga and all kinds of racket sports!
Currently based in San Francisco, Xiao is a research consultant with skills in software engineering development and product design. She holds a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and has previously worked at Apple and HubSpot as software engineer. Xiao is passionate about technology startup and has helped various startup with product consultation.
Mohamed Gulaid is a researcher and technical program manager. He worked at Meta and with the UN mission in Somalia. His work has been focused on using data to inform policy and social media analysis to detect harm. Mohamed is a graduate from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He enjoys traveling and playing soccer.
Lyra is an undergraduate student majoring in Political Science at the University of Hong Kong. Substantially, she focuses on studying political communication and elite politics from a comparative perspective. Methodologically, she is passionate about learning computational tools to collect and analyze big data. Standing at the starting point of her academic journey, she is committed to continuous learning and exploration.
Yizhi is a software engineer passionate about leveraging technology for social impact. He currently works at Meta, focusing on integrity and AI safety areas. His previous experience includes roles at Disney, ByteDance, and Alibaba. Yizhi holds a master's degree in Computer Science from Yale University.
Da Ling is a freelance journalist based in California, covering social issues and youth culture in East Asia. Her work has appeared in publications such as Guan Nian 观廿 and Xinjingbao 新京报. She holds an MA in East Asian Studies from Yale University (2023). At Information Tracer, Da focuses on user experience research, product management, and public relations. She leverages her media expertise to refine the platform, ensuring it serves professionals across various industries.
Yifei Gao is a quantitative developer and an entrepreneur. He worked at a hedge fund in New York. His interest is primarily related to optimization and quantitative arbitrage strategies, such as statistical arbitrage and risk arbitrage. He is a graduate from New York University with a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree both in Mathematics. He loves arts, reading books and rollerskating.
I am Shiqi Yang, currently a master student from the MSDS program at NYU. I got my bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Statistics from PKU and had several research experiences in Data Mining, Neural Networks and NLP during my undergraduates. I am interested in applying Information Tracer in the fields such as Social Media Monitoring, Data Visualization and Disinformation Detection. I believe our team will provide a more convenient and concise information platform for researchers and companies.
I'm currently a final semester MSDS student at NYU. While applying NLP methods to a federal government dataset in one of my DS elective courses, I developed an interest in this field. I worked with Zhouhan on an extended usage of Information Tracer to detect fake news sources during my Fall 2022 Capstone project. In my free time I enjoy playing basketball, jogging, and watching fútbol highlights.
