Academic-grade social media data gathering

Information Tracer gathers data from X(Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, YouTube, Bluesky, Linkedin, and more.

Our high-quality data powers academic researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, Tsinghua University, The University of Hong Kong, The University of Copenhagen, and more.

"This tool is more comprehensive than anything else I've seen."

What differentiates Information Tracer from other software is the ability to visualize and analyze narratives from "30,000 feet" (global trend) to "3 feet" (individual post) -- allowing the user to easily zoom in and zoom out.

Our software is used by journalists to uncover online manipulation. For example, we collaborated with Tortise Media and discovered large scale pro-Johnny Depp influence operations. Our work is featured on Podcast Who Trolled Amber.

Discover inauthentic behaviors

Today's social media is filled with AI-generated content. Many posts are opinion-based, which cannot be easily fact-checked. So how should we define "truth"?

To tackle this challenge, our algorithms creates a holistic profile for a social media persona -- including language pattern, geo-location, sentiment, and interactions with other accounts. Those insights not only tells what an account says, but also why it says so.
